How to Troubleshoot Common Furnace Problems Before Calling
The next time you’re dealing with furnace issues, there are some steps you can take immediately before you give us a call:
- Check your electrical supply. the power switch that connects to your furnace might not be turned on. if it is, go to your main circuit breaker panel. Sometimes the switch gets tripped and if you aren’t actively using your furnace you don’t notice.
- Check your gas supply. Your igniter can’t heat properly if the main gas valve isn’t working. You should have a switch resting parallel to your gas line inside the house. An easy way to check this is to try any other gas appliance you have. If, for example, you have a gas-powered stove and it works just fine, this probably isn’t the issue.
- Check the filters. Dirty filters can inhibit proper furnace function. Our furnace maintenance team will inspect your filters every time you have an appointment, but it doesn’t hurt to inspect them every couple of months yourself.
Once you’ve checked all these and the problem persists, call One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating. We are available 24/7 to provide furnace repair or installation services to you. We even offer emergency and same-day appointments.
